MARINA, Calif., "Marina's Warhorse Day," January 20, 2011. This celebration marked the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Army Station Veterinary Hospital that cared for horses and mules at Fort Ord. The Friends of the Fort Ord Warhorse, a nonprofit organization, sponsored this historical event. Speakers included Marina Mayor, Bruce Delgado, and Col. Danial D. Pick from DLIFLC. The 229th Military Intelligence Battalion color guard and various civilian reenactors, including the California Historial Artillery Society (CHAS) participated. |
