This box of the1986 Command History Collection contains information regarding the ACH GOSC (General Officer Steering Committee) Meetings, Dean's Meetings, Command Operating Budget, Dean's Meetings, EEO's (Equal Employment Opportunity) Activities, Historical Summaries, DLI's Master Plan, and the The GOSC (General Officer Steering Committee) Meeting discussed the implementation of 2/2 graduation standard, the new personnel system, team teaching, non-resident language training, and the Military language instructor intern program (MLII). Also included is information regarding DLI attrition/Turn-back policies, DLAB scores, 7 hour day, and category III and IV course lengths. The GOSC Meeting in March 1987 discussion upgrading teacher standards, implementation of 2/2, structure load review, new civilian personnel system, proficiency pay, etc. Also available are information papers on linguist retention effort of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force and their compliance with 2/2 graduation requirements. The Dean's Meetings consist of notes regarding the restructuring of PSI task force, faculty "in-service leader", the DOTD report of streamlining school/staff interactions, DPERT (remake film on proficiency levels), utilization of POM gymnasium, decentralization of authority at DLI, classroom observations, POM and San Francisco Coordination, work force year 2000, PLATO contract cancellation, procurement of commercial textbooks, etc. The DLI's Master Plan folder contains information regarding word changes to the DLI mission statement, photographs of the general instruction facility, DLI construction program, engineer programs in progress, and four copies of the Master Plan.
