This box of the Plummer collection generally consists of general correspondence relating to Army subject matter as well as personal matters, such as correspondence with editors and publishers regarding his submissions of freelance writing. Also included are general and field orders as well as requests for and responses for promotions by other officers. General Plummer (then Colonel, Major and Lieutenant) served in the Alaskan Yukon, Santiago, Cuba; and Vera Cruz, Mexico. Records from his service in these locations is also included. The San Francisco earthquake and subsequent fires are noted in their own file. The date range of the documents is 1893 to 1924. |
