This box of the Verett Preservation Collection contains materials regarding studies and reports on Fort Ord, specifically the Installation Wide Multi-Species Habitat Management Plan, Land Use Baseline Study, Mobilization Master Plan Report and the Other Physical Attributes Baseline Study. All the plans and reports were prepared by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The Installation Wide Multi-Species Habitat Management Plan (HMP) for former Fort Ord compiles with the US Fish and Wildlife Service final Biological Conference Opinion for disposal and reuse of former Fort Ord lands and establishes the guidelines for the conservation and management of wildlife and plant species and habitats that largely depend on former Fort Ord land for survival. The Plan provides data and analysis regarding disposal of land, reuse areas that require additional analysis to cover disposal for new land uses, and uses contained in the Fort Ord Reuse Authority (FORA) that were not previously covered. A 1992 Land Use Baseline Study describes the regional setting of Fort Ord, history and mission, jurisdictions surrounding Fort Ord, and future land uses on Fort Ord. Included in the study are maps of Fort Ord garrison, training facilities, existing land uses, farmlands near Fort Ord, and Monterey County land use plan designation. The Mobilization Master Plan consists of the Mobilization Master Plan Report, Mobilization Tabulation of Existing and Required Facilities and Mobilization Development Plans. The Plan is the installation engineer's land, facilities, and infrastructure plan that supports the Fort Ord Mobilization Plan. The intent of the documents is to project the impact of the proposed mobilization force structure on the land, facility, utility and transportation resources available at the installation, and define remedies to shortfalls identified. The date range of these records is1989 to 1997. |
