This collection consists of documents collected by Stephen Payne. Payne was the Command Historian from 2006-2019. The collection consists of a wide variety of materials, unconfined to Payne's tenure as Command Historian. There are numerous documents on accreditation and testing such as the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) and the Proficiency Enhancement Plan (PEP), scholarly articles, early history of Defense Language Institute (DLI) documents, Command Plans surveys, studies, such as the US Army Manpower Study (USAMAA) and 2+/2+/2, correspondence, materials on Fort Ord, Stilwell Hall etc. A majority of the collection contains documents and records with a few photographs, computer disks, and CDs. There are also a few books and oversized artifacts in the collection. The date range of these documents is 1954-2016 with the majority from 1996-2016. |
