This box of the1987 Command History Collection consists of the Training in Doctrine Command (TRADOC) review of DLI resource management, the 1987 budget shortfalls, and the long-term budget proposals for 1990-94. Also included are the funds' sources and the Command Operating Budget FY87. This box contains Drafts of Chapter Two Managing the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in 1987 and feedback from various readers. It also consists of a change in pension plan and reports defending DLI's team teaching methodology. Included is a proposal to build barracks and other housing on Fort Ord to handle the overflow of service members with the closure of the San Francisco Branch. Changes to the DLI campus encompassed upgraded and improved facilities such as the new School of Russian Studies complex, a large logistical facility, a physical fitness center, and an academic library. The date range for these documents is 1987-1988. |
