Scope & Content This box of the Fort Ord Historical Records Collection includes historical report supplements, G3 general orders, and operational reports with lessons learned.

As part of the 1971 historical supplement, a status of unit historical activities was prepared, as well as the appointment of a unit historical officer. A questionnaire was sent from the Commanding General of the Sixth United States Army regarding questions related to how historical files were maintained, military exhibits, museums, historical officer, etc. The information office prepared the 1971 Fort Ord annual historical supplement and includes all the directorates at the Base.

The abstract for the 1972 report includes outlines of the installation mission, special actions, major construction, support missions, unit actions and key personnel. As noted in the report, accountability for Camp Roberts was transferred on 29 September 1972, to the US Property and Fiscal Officer, Camp San Luis Obispo. The construction of the enlisted men's barracks was completed. Additional reports from the facilities department, directorate of industrial operations, personnel department, Chaplain division are also included.

1973's historical report provides similar coverage to 1972 and also includes reports from the Information Office, Director of Security, Facilities Engineering, Office of the Director of Personnel and Community Activities, and Adjutant General.

Records of General Orders consist of unit discontinuance, amendments to orders, awards conferred, memorialization, order changes, and duty assignments.
