This box of the 7th Infantry Division Records includes materials regarding the history and creation of the 7th Infantry Division, including command policies, logos, involvement in WWII, Korea, and more recent events. Photographs from events in the 1940s are also included.
General background information on the 7th Infantry Division Association includes the articles of incorporation/constitution, which note that it was chartered in 1946 as a non-profit veterans organization.
Command policies from 1990 include the Military Publication (No. 25-3), which outlines the procedures for initiating and processing new command policies or changing existing command policies, and to disseminate those command policies which are in effect. Subjects for which command policies are includes consists of: visiting privileges, relief of officers for cause, Army sponsorship program, block leave, smoking policy, housing, etc.
History and lineage records consist of information related to the first constitution of the 7th Infantry Division, inactivation, re-activation, redesignation, and service locations during war time. Also included are newspaper articles, farewell ceremony in 1993, and commemorative programs.
