This box of the DLI Officers and Faculty Wives Club contains A Scrapbook documenting through Photographs and Newspaper Clippings (from the Monterey Herald and the Panorama) the Activities of the Defense Language Institute Women's Club in August 1969 - June 1971. It lays out the names of the President, Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Board, and Committee Chairman of the Club for each year. Their activities include the continuation of the Woman's World Newsletter, Officer Elections, and a compilation of Social and Club Notes articles. Articles on their Cooking Classes along with recipes. Articles about the Presidio of Monterey and the Defense Language Institute. A student wives welcome booklet, and biography about Commandant Colonel John F. Hook. The Club presented 24 flags to the Defense Language Institute. Christmas Card Contest, Fashion Shows, the club assisted in the 'Walk for Mankind' by manning a stop, Christmas Party, International Luncheons, Thrift Shop News, Monte Carlo Night at the Defense Language Institute, and Saint Patrick's Day Coffee.
