Scope & Content This box of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Records contains the Fort Ord Installation Clearance/Closure Records, DLI and Fort Ord BRAC IPR , housing and homeless issues, BRAC implementation plan, and water issues.

Part 1 and Part 2 of the Installation Clearance/Closure Records are available. In the DLI and Fort Ord BRAC IPR folder there is documentation regarding BRAC IPR agendas, budget overviews,SL-100 removal, and environmental updates.

Newspaper articles regarding homeless issues are available. Articles on the homeless children center and homeless advocacy groups are also included.

The folder titled Implementation Plan for the Closure of Fort Ord includes, BRAC history and a draft of the Implementation Plan. BRAC history addresses the background and mission of BRAC. Included is information on BRAC I, II, III, BRAC 91, 93, and 95.

Water issues include newspaper articles on FORG water plan, Ord's aquastructure, Salinas Valley's seawater intrusion, over-pumping, nitrate contamination, and solutions. Articles on the Salinas pipeline and the Army's $7.4 million agreement with the Monterey County Water Resources Agency are also included.

The date range of these documents is 1993 to 1997.
